日本語ボランティアとは/Japanese Language Volunteers

日本語ボランティアは、地域に在住する外国人や中国帰国者、日系人などの生活を、ボランティア日本語教室活動を通してサポートしています。

ボランティア日本語教室では、教科書を使って日本語を教えるだけでなく、日本の社会や習慣など、毎日の暮らしに必要な知識を伝えたりして、生活上のさまざまな相談にのったりしてています。それぞれの学習者のニーズに合わせて幅広い内容で展開していることが、一般の日本語学校との一番の違いであり、外国人学習者も学習支援ボランティアも共に学び合う場となっています。
個人レッスン、小グループ、クラス形式など、日本語教室の活動形態や規模は団体によってさまざまです。
また、多くの団体では日本語教室活動のほかにも交流のためのパーティなどを開いたり、多彩なイベントを実施して草の根の国際交流に一役買っています。

Japanese language volunteers support people living in Japan who need to learn the Japanese language in order to live in Japan. At the Japanese classes, volunteers teach not only Japanese but also about living in Japan and about Japanese customs. Occasionally , they also counsel people concerning problems about life in Japan.)

Japanese volunteer language classes have many different courses depending on the needs of the students and the abilities of the group members.Teachers not only teach about language and culture, but also learn about many different cultures.

Japanese volunteer groups offer private lessons, small group lessons and large group lessons. Groups also hold other activities, such as international friendship parties, workshops, and teaching about traditional Japanese crafts and hobbies.

Japanese volunteer language groups are not only about language teaching,but about building international grass roots networks.

東京日本語ボランティア･ネットワークとは/Tokyo Nihongo Volunteer Network

日本語ボランティア団体は、街で見かける外国人の数と比例するように過去数年間で急速に増加し、現在、東京だけでも百数十の団体が活動をしていると言われています。その規模は数人のボランティアで活動しているグループから、数百人の会員を擁する団体までさまざまで、隣の外国人との交流を目的に結成された団体、行政による日本語ボランティア養成講座をきっかけに誕生した団体など、その成り立ちや活動の目的もバラエティゆたかです。

しかし、日本語教室の会場確保の問題、日本語教材や教授法の問題、外国人の抱える問題を解決するための手段など、その悩みには共通するものがあります。

そこで、このような共通の課題の解決のために力を結集し、情報交換をはかることを目的に、1993年12月に東京日本語ボランティア･ネットワークが結成されました。

Recently, the number of foreigners has increased year by year in Japan. Because of this, Japanese volunteer language groups have also increased.

Now, there are about 150 such groups in Tokyo. Some groups consist of just a few members while others have more than 300 members. Some groups were established to assist just the foreigners living in a particular neighborhood, while others were established because people had finished Japanese language teacher courses offered by local governments.

Most groups have similar difficulties: securing facilities, improving Japanese language teaching skills, selecting suitable texts, and difficulties in solving foreigners' problems.

TNVN aims to solve these problems by :

  1. Producing a "Japanese Volunteer Classroom Guide", that is useful for people want to learn Japanese close to home or to work.
  2. Publish the "Japanese Network News."
  3. Establish a series of lectures and workshops for volunteer teachers.

TNVN was established on October 6, 1993.

TNVNの会員は、正会員（ボランティア日本語教室活動をしている団体）、協力会員（TNVNの活動に協力する個人）、賛助会員（TNVNの活動をサポートする団体・個人）によって構成されています。

2005年5月15日現在、正会員77団体、協力会員67名、賛助会員5団体がTNVNのネットワーク活動に参加・協力し、東京を中心とした首都圏（埼玉・千葉・神奈川など）で活動をしています。

TNVNへの入会は随時受け付けています。ご関心をお持ちの方は下記の事務局までお問い合せ下さい。

東京日本語ボランティア･ネットワークの活動/TNVN Activities

TNVNでは、下記のような活動をしています。

  1. 会員同士の情報交換の場としての交流会等の実施
    日本語ボランティア活動に関する情報交換および討論の場として不定期に開催しています。
  2. 「ボランティア日本語教室一覧」の発行
    会員団体を中心に東京の各地域で日本語ボランティア活動をしている団体に活動状況の調査を行い、その活動情報を１冊の冊子に纏め編集。生活を通してことばに不自由を感じ日本語を学びたい人や、新しく日本語ボランティアを始めたい人に、適当な地域のボランティア日本語教室を紹介しています。
    1994年、1997年、2000年に引き続き2004年に「ボランティア日本語教室一覧2004東京」を発行しました。
    またこのホームページの「ボランティア日本語教室ガイド」からも検索が出来ます。
  3. ニュースレター「TNVN Network News 」の発行
    地域の日本語ボランティア活動、TNVNの活動などの紹介や日本語ボランティアの活動に役立つ各種の情報を掲載しています。３ヶ月毎に発行しています。
  4. ファイル「にほんご」の閲覧
    各地域のボランティア団体のニュースレターや活動報告をファイル「にほんご」に纏めてあります。東京ボランティア・市民活動センターの閲覧棚で自由に閲覧出来ます。
  5. 日本語ボランティア相談窓口
    TNVNの事務局で、日本語ボランティア活動に関わる様々な問題に応じる相談窓口を開いています。

Major activities of TNVN are as follows:

  2. Workshops for members
    1. Meeting to exchange information.
    2. Workshops.
    3. Mini symposium.
  3. Publish the "Nihongo Volunteer Classroom Guide", that is useful for people want to learn or teach Japanese close to home or to work.
  4. Publish the "Nihongo Network News", six times a year. This newsletter has information about TNVN members' activities and tips on living in Japan. (A4 size, 12 pages.)
  5. "File Nihongo". This file contains information about all TNVN memebers and is available for reference at the Tokyo Volunteer Center Information Shelf.
  6. Counseling Desk. You can ask any questions concerning Volunteer Japanese Language teaching at this desk.
